About Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park is one of India’s most famous tiger reserves, located near Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. Spread across dry deciduous forests, open grasslands, lakes, and rocky hills, the park is best known for its Bengal tiger population and historic landscapes.
Apart from tigers, Ranthambore is home to leopards, sloth bears, striped hyenas, sambar deer, chital, nilgai, marsh crocodiles, and a wide variety of bird species. The presence of ancient forts, temples, and ruins within the park adds a unique historical character to the safari experience.
Ranthambore offers one of the best wildlife safari experiences in India for both first-time visitors and wildlife photographers.
Safari Zones, Vehicles & Experience
Ranthambore National Park is divided into multiple safari zones, each offering a distinct landscape and wildlife experience. Safaris are conducted in two daily shifts – morning and afternoon – using either open gypsy vehicles or canters, depending on availability.
Each safari lasts approximately 3 to 3.5 hours and is conducted with an experienced forest department guide and driver. Tiger sightings depend on zone allocation, animal movement, and natural conditions, but Ranthambore is known for frequent daytime sightings.
All safaris are regulated by the Rajasthan Forest Department to ensure responsible tourism and wildlife protection.
