About Sariska Tiger Reserve
Sariska Tiger Reserve is one of the oldest protected wildlife areas in India, located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. Nestled in the ancient Aravalli Hills, Sariska is known for its dramatic landscapes of dry deciduous forests, rocky cliffs, and open grasslands.
Once a royal hunting ground, Sariska has successfully reintroduced tigers and today offers visitors a chance to experience authentic wildlife safaris close to Jaipur and Delhi.
Wildlife and Safari Experience
A Sariska safari offers opportunities to spot Royal Bengal tigers, leopards, striped hyenas, sambar deer, nilgai, wild boar, langurs, and a rich variety of bird species. The reserve is also home to ancient temples and historical ruins hidden deep inside the forest.
Safaris are conducted in open gypsy and canter vehicles, accompanied by trained forest guides who share insights about animal behavior, conservation, and the ecosystem.
