Before You Book
How far in advance should I book a safari?
We recommend booking at least 4–8 weeks in advance, especially for peak season (October–March) when Ranthambore and Sariska zones fill up fast. For December–January travel, book 3 months ahead. That said, last-minute slots do occasionally open — contact us and we'll check availability.
Do I need prior wildlife experience to join a safari?
Not at all. Our safaris are designed for all comfort levels — from first-timers to seasoned naturalists. Guides brief every group before departure on what to expect, how to behave in the reserve, and what to look for. Children aged 6 and above are welcome on most tours.
What is the best time of year to visit Rajasthan for a safari?
The cooler dry months (October to March) offer the best wildlife sightings as animals gather around waterholes and vegetation is thinner. April–June is hot but tiger sightings can be excellent before parks close for monsoon. Most parks are closed July–September. We can help you match your dates to the right destination.
Can I customise a tour to match my interests?
Yes — customisation is a core part of what we do. Tell us your preferred destinations, group size, pace, and budget and we'll build an itinerary around you. This includes private vehicle upgrades, extended zone permits, bird-photography stops, and night drives where permitted.
Are your tours suitable for families with young children?
Most of our safaris welcome children aged 6 and above. Jeep safaris require children to remain seated and relatively quiet — which most find exciting rather than restrictive. We'll flag any age or noise restrictions for specific parks when you enquire. Family-oriented itineraries with shorter drives and comfortable camps are also available.
During Your Safari
What vehicles are used for the safari?
We use open-top Canter canters (shared 20-seat) and private Gypsy jeeps (6 seats). Private Gypsys offer a more flexible experience — quieter, more manoeuvrable, and better for photography. You can choose your vehicle type when booking. All vehicles meet the respective park's entry standards.
How long does a typical safari last?
Morning safaris run approximately 3–4 hours (usually 6 AM – 10 AM) and afternoon safaris run 2.5–3.5 hours (3 PM – 6 PM). Full-day drives, where parks permit, can be arranged. The exact duration varies by park and season.
Will I definitely see a tiger?
Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed — animals are wild and free-roaming. That said, Ranthambore has one of India's highest tiger densities and sighting rates are excellent. Our guides read animal tracks, alarm calls, and movement patterns to maximise your chances. On average, our guests see tigers on 70–80% of Ranthambore morning drives during peak season.
What should I wear on a safari?
Neutral earth tones (khaki, olive, beige, grey) are ideal. Avoid bright colours and white — they spook wildlife and show dust. Layering is smart: mornings can be cold in winter, afternoons warm. Closed shoes, a hat, and a light scarf or buff for dust are all recommended. Full guidance is sent with your booking confirmation.
Is photography permitted? Can I bring a tripod?
Photography is permitted and encouraged. Tripods and monopods are allowed in private Gypsys; on shared Canters, space is more limited. Flash photography is not permitted near wildlife. Drone use inside reserve boundaries requires prior forest department approval — we can advise on the process.
Payments & Cancellations
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), net banking, and bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS). For international guests, we also accept wire transfers and can share PayPal details on request. All payments are secured via encrypted gateways.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 7 or more days before departure receive a full refund minus a 5% processing fee. Cancellations 3–6 days before receive a 50% refund. Within 72 hours of departure, the booking is non-refundable. Date changes (same season) are permitted up to 48 hours before departure at no extra charge, subject to availability.
Is a deposit required to confirm my booking?
A 30% deposit is required to hold your booking; the balance is due 14 days before departure. For last-minute bookings (within 14 days of travel), full payment is required at the time of booking.
Do children get a discounted price?
Yes. Children aged 6–11 receive a 50% discount on safari fees. Children under 6 travel free (subject to park rules on entry). Pricing on our website shows the adult rate; the discount is applied automatically at checkout when you select the number of children.
What happens if the park is closed on my booked date due to rain or emergency?
If a park closure is declared by the forest department, you will receive a full refund or free rebooking at your choice. Closures due to weather, fire, or wildlife emergency are outside our control, but we work swiftly to arrange alternatives when they occur.
Destinations & Wildlife
Which parks do you cover?
We operate safaris across Ranthambore (tigers), Sariska (tigers, leopards), Jhalana (leopards — world's largest urban leopard reserve), Jawai (leopards, crocodiles), Kumbhalgarh (wolves, sloth bears), and desert wildlife near Jaisalmer and Bikaner (Great Indian Bustard, chinkara, blackbuck). Ask us about combining multiple destinations.
What wildlife can I expect to see beyond tigers?
Rajasthan is extraordinarily rich. Common sightings include leopards, sloth bears, striped hyenas, Indian wild boar, chital, sambar, nilgai, jackals, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and hundreds of bird species including painted storks, sarus cranes, and migratory ducks. Even if big cats are elusive, drives are rarely boring.
Is Ranthambore better than Sariska for tigers?
Ranthambore has more tigers (70+ as of the latest census) and historically higher sighting rates. Sariska is smaller but has a growing population and often fewer tourists — meaning quieter, more intimate drives. For a first tiger safari, Ranthambore is usually our recommendation; for return visitors seeking a different atmosphere, Sariska is excellent.
Can you arrange a desert wildlife safari near Jaisalmer?
Yes. The Thar Desert is home to the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard, chinkara gazelle, desert fox, and spectacular migratory birds. We offer guided desert drives based from Jaisalmer that can be combined with dune camps, camel safaris, and cultural experiences. It's a very different experience from a jungle tiger safari — equally rewarding.
Practical Information
Do you help with accommodation and transfers?
We don't operate hotels directly, but we partner with a curated selection of jungle lodges, heritage properties, and tented camps near each reserve. We're happy to recommend options to suit your budget and style, and to connect you with trusted transfer providers. Just ask when enquiring.
Are safaris accessible for guests with mobility challenges?
We do our best to accommodate all guests. Private Gypsy safaris are more flexible — we can arrange assistance boarding and positioning. Rough terrain inside reserves means some areas are inaccessible for wheelchairs; however, many excellent viewing areas along the main tracks are accessible. Please mention your requirements when booking so we can plan accordingly.
Do I need a visa to visit India?
Most international visitors require a visa. The Indian e-Visa (eTV) is available online for citizens of 160+ countries and is straightforward to apply for. We recommend applying at least 4 days before travel. We're happy to share the official portal link and guidance, but visa fees and approvals are managed directly with the Indian government.
What vaccinations or health precautions are advised?
We recommend consulting your doctor or a travel health clinic before visiting India. Common advice includes hepatitis A, typhoid, and routine vaccinations. Malaria risk in Rajasthan is low but your GP may still recommend precautions. Carry a basic first-aid kit, sun protection, and stay hydrated — especially on summer safaris.
Is there mobile signal inside the parks?
Mobile connectivity is patchy to non-existent inside most reserve cores. This is part of the experience — guides communicate via VHF radio. At camp or lodge, Wi-Fi is usually available. We'd encourage a digital detox during the drive itself; focus on the forest and you'll miss fewer animals.
